| I'm thinking the same thing. Were going to need some arctic temps again to get some solid ice back. Where do you usually fish at on Dayton? Right out from where everyone parks at, at that gas station there?

I move around a lot. I park by the gas station and fish the main body of water around the main point that extends out into the lake. I've caught em all over that lake but not many giants.

It's a small, clear, and shallow weedy lake.

I checked a pond in Bridgman yesturday and there was only 1 inch of ice and it was pretty weak. I stepped down on it and a lighting bolt shot out from where I stepped. The snow we are getting right now shouldn't help eather

I haven't been out there for a while but it's usually the first lake that ices over in the area. I'm going Ice fishing on a local pond saturday morning. Last night I checked it and there was 3-4 inches of good ice.
If I hear anything about Dayton I'll let you know.

| Buddy and I went out to Dayton yesterday afternoon, got off work early, and were very disappointed. No one was there and you could see where someone had tried to venture out but turned right back around. There was about 8-10" of snow and about 2-3" of water under it. Then we went over to Madron in Buch, and walked out there about 10' and the ice dropped out from under us about 1/2" and started cracking every which way. I hear people are getting out on Stone in Cass so I may run out there and check it out today. I will post what I find out.

The snow was a killer on the ice.

| Stone was a success. There was about 3-1/2"-4" of ice. I was there for about 3 hours and probably caught 35 gills had to sort through them to get the nice ones but did end up taking home 14. I wish I would of taken some minnows though because the crappie were pretty active come evening. I lost one and caught one that was pushing 11" Probably will be heading out there again on Sunday.

CEM, what time you heading out to Stone? I might head that way in the morning. I sent you a PM with my cell # if you're gonna be out there. I may also try Juno. Later.
Scott.

I fished a local pond in Bridgman with my dad, and Ron Nelson. There was 4-5 inches of good ice. We used Gulp wax worms and caught 75 gills, 4 bass, and i crappie. We released all but 10 gills to eat for a snack. Stocked ponds are the way to go
