We're going to be opening the year up next year on the St. Joe River out of Benton Township on opening day from 6:30 - 2:30. Other lakes we will fish include Klinger, Magician, Paw Paw, and the St. Joe River in Buchanan.
Does anyone plan to fish thesein 2008?

I can't find a schedule for you on here anywhere. Have you nailed down when and where you are fishing yet, or is that still debatable? Trying to put my tourney schedule together so I know how much I need when, and this would help alot as I plan on fishing at least one of your events. Can you give me some info as to what the classic, if you have one, is like, and what the benefits of fishing your series are. Do you win bids into bigger tourneys, etc...?

| The classic is always a good time. You have to fish at least 3 to get a chance to qualify, or be in the top 15 if more than 15 teams fish 3 events. The turnout is normally ok for the area and pays back ok. The classic has the best payback because $10 is kept from every entry fee to go towards the classic, which makes for a big pot. The dates should be done, just waiting for Dave Landon to get the flyers around.

Jr,
Can't you qualify to fish the state tournament if you're a member of B.A.S.S. and the club?

| Yep. If you're in our club as an individual you can fish the state championship in August, it's normally on St. Clair but it's on Charlevoix this year.

I am going to join Berrien Bass Busters this year, but can I also join Four Flags, giving myself 2 chances? I don't see why not, but... Can someone give me some info on this state tourney and how to qualify, what to expect, etc...

From the research I've done, and this is MY interpetation of what I've found out:
In order to be eligible to fish the BASS Fed Nation state tourney @ Charlevoix in August your name had to be on a club roster that was turned in in the middle of last month. So the way I read it, you're out of luck.
UNLESS: - Any "new" club can turn in their roster at the next presidents meeting in February.
That's how I read it anyway.
I'm a member of an FLW "paper club." Why not have a BASS "paper club"?

| Berrien is FLW so that is a different championship. Also, if you would join 2 BASS clubs you can not try to double qualify, you must specify before the year begins from what I understand because we had guys who wanted to do that at one time. However, right now all members are eligible due to the FLW/BASS split almost down the middle to keep numbers up. The difference our club has is being a boater/nonboater, which goes by points.

It says on Berrien Bass Busters website that you must be a member of BASS and the Michigan BASS chapter federation, I didnt see anything about FLW? Jav, you most likley would make there team, from what I seen on the results pages there active members are downnnnnnn. I think they send 11 or 12 of the top point leaders and usually all the top guys cant make it so they go deeper then that. You would make that cut no problem with only 15-20 guys fishing most tournaments. Even I made the team back in the day from the back of the boat and we averaged like 30 guys a tournament. I am joining too and I plan on making the team, its going to be a blast with that schedual. A 2 day trailer tournament in traverse city, 2-day paper on St Clair, and a paper on Hardy, those guys love some smallmouth I cant wait.
