Magician Lake is on fire right now. I fished a small tournament and we caught 14 keepers and the best five were 11.11 pounds. The winning team had 11.83 and third was 10 pounds. There were 6 or 7 limits weighed in. All of our fish were caught next to deep weed beds in about 15 ft.

Those weights are pretty typical for Magicain Lake maybe a little above average. The best weight I've ever seen weighed in past 10 years of tournament fishing was 15 pounds.

| Start taking some pictures of those beasts. It takes a 22 incher to go 5 pounds around here. 20 incher to make 4. I will believe the pics but good fishing. On a side note the big bass on Indian are almost no more according to many fishing reports, those dang weed kills have killed the lake. |

| What makes you think I dont take pics I have pics of the 2 fish from magican. Oh I think your little weight to size thing is a little off, 18-19 inchs is 4 pounds and 20-22 inchs is 4.5- 5 pounds(and during the spawn females will weigh more because of eggs). The only thing I have problem estimating the weight of is smallies they tend to weigh a little more for there size cuz there fat like a football. I have the pics on my film camera and havnt used up all the film yet so I dont have pictures. Me and rockinfish had a real good day on Indian last year I dont know if he wrote about it but its the best day ive had on a lake for size of our combined limit. I think we weighed all our fish that day as well.

| I am not one to get in little arguments much but I have fished a lot of tournaments and have not seen an 18 inch fish going 4 pounds. Scott had a 4.15 or so from Magician last Monday and the thing was fat as heck and about 20-21 inches long. We weighed one 17.5 and very fat like a football and it went 2.76. It takes a very very old bass to grow to those sizes and they are very rare in this area during weigh-ins. All I can honestly say is if you really can catch those weights then come to the next monday nighter on Magician with rockinfish and put 20 bucks each in and see what happens, I will find out the date. |
