My 8 year old son and I fished a small tournament on Magician lake Monday night and the fishing was alot better than the weather. I started off with a couple approximate 2 pounders and went a long time without a bite before I caught another approximate 2 pounder. I was then able to catch an approximate 6 pounder and my son followed up with another approximate 2 pounder. We caught a few more keepers and culled up approximately 2 pounds putting our approximate weight at approximately 16 pounds. Oddly enough at the weigh in the 6 pounder was a little over 4 and the best 5 weighed 11.5. Funny how things change when we go from approximate to Official, huh?

The scales were fine I was just getting carried away having too much fun you might say. I would like to know how high my blood pressure got while my son was netting that 4 pounder, but he did great. The fish wasn't helping matters, spending a little too much time in the air for my liking. The only thing better was netting my son's fish for him. He was asking me on the way home how much his fish weighed and what percentage of our total weight that was and whether or not that meant he got that much of our total winnings. I'm still laughing about that. We had a talk about $3/gallon gas, $5 for 10 worms and such and he hasn't brought it up since.
