ok so heres the deal....i just got a new Lowrance LMS-525C. my cousin and i got the thing mounted, installed and everything seems to be fine BUT....we are not marking any arches. the bottom, temp, and depth seem to be fine. The GPS works GREAT but no arches. we have reposition the transducer but still nothing. It's on a V bottom boat. we have the transducer mounted inbetween the lips on the hull closest to the engine like the directions suggest so i don't know what else to try. anybody have any suggestions on what i(we) am doing wrong.

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Question Terrell Question

You will only mark arches if your moving slowly not when your standing still. When your just sitting the fish are straight lines of red spots on your screen.

Also, you will only mark large fish that make arches in 15 ft of water or more because the sonar cone your unit sends out doesn't have a huge circomference. In 10 ft or less its maybe as big as a baketball hoop. The deeper you are the larger area your cone covers. Troll around the lake and you should mark a couple arches.

thanks guys, that makes sence Justin because i have been marking straight lines but was unsure if it was fish. i thought it would be an arch regaurdless of standing still or moving.

Thanks for the help cobra, having fish under the boat would definatly make a BIG difference in marking arches...smarta** Very Happy Wink

Increase your ping speed to max. Increase your scroll speed to max. You will have to decrease your sensitivity to elimenate surface clutter but the definition will be a magnitude of 10 better.
