fletcher pond help

this spring and summer we are going to take a fishing trip to fletcher pond. i have never been there and i have heard it has an amazing bass fishery. if any of you could if you have fished there or know anything about it could you please help me out with some tips that would load the boat with bass.

I have fished Fletcher and one thing that I remember is that the drop is a distinct transition and what I found on the day I was there is that the fish were relating to the shallow flat before the sun was high and as it rose the fish moved off the flat and repositioned onto the transition between the shallow and deep, basically hugging the transition. What you have to remember is that every day is different and you must not get hung up in what worked for me 10 years ago but what the fish are doing that day and more percise that minute. If your going during the spawn then look for spawning habitat. If your going after the spawn look for the nearest structure adjacent to the spawning flat. As Summer progresses they should move off and onto the secondary feeding flats but they might move up during the morning. I see this happen on Klinger in Sturgis during the heat of the summer the fish will move up in 2 ft during the early morning and then as the sun moves up they will move off to deeper water.

Most of my time spent on Fletcher's has been on the North/East end, I think, whatever end the dam is on. Fletcher's has tons of cover and the majority of the part I fish is less than 10 feet deep. I haven't been there during the spawn but post spawn and summer I'd concentrate on the river channel that runs through the lake. The majority of the lake is filled with milfoil but the river channel is deep enough to keep weeds from growing in it. The channel is easy to follow if you can stand up while running the TM so you can see the weed line. Follow the channel and hit the edge with either topwater (popper or buzzbait) or else a green/white spinnerbait. Probably get more pike than bass on the spinnerbait but they're still fun to catch.
