Has anyone been or heard anything about the ice conditions in southern michigan or northern indiana lakes lately? I haven't been out on the ice for about a week in a half or so, but there was plenty of ice but about 6" of ice and slush on top of it.

Im not sure, but i would strongly urge you not to try to get on the ice. The temps have been above freezing a lot, and with all that slush, it insulates the ice, making it weak.

I have heard from a few people that went out yesterday that they had to walk through about 12" of slush and water, but there still was about 6-10 inches of good ice. I think i may try my luck this weekend
