I'm interested to see how the smallies like the King Shad this fall. I think its going to be a great bait for the river.
If anyone tries it anywhere else let me know.

Before I even think about spending any of my time on swimbaits there are more important baits I need to work on using, and crankbaits are on the top of that list for me. I just got my order of some C Flash Cranks and norman DD22's and I will be trying them out for the rest of the year. Heading to muskegon and white tomorrow for 3 days so that will be the first test. I am curious to see the difference in the action and bites when comparing a custom balsa crank to your ordinary plastic crank, and for the love of god I hope a toothy critter doesnt hit a C Flash!!!!

Yes, I have heard alot of stuff about the C-Flash but at $22 per bait I have to really justify it. Is it the bait or is it the wood bait if you know what I mean? (I was very concerned when Japanese baits sold for $15) each and they quickly proved there place and I see that the C-Flash has been know to catch fish. So Tim when you try them out let me know what your results are and I mean compare apples to apples so I would say the close thing to a C-Flash in Lucky Craft would be the RC Cranks and in Jackall it would be the MC/60 series. So I would be really interested in seeing how they compare on the same body of water with the same angler, if you know what I am asking for. As for Nories it would be the Angel Shad and I do not know what would be comparison for Megabass - as for Evergreen it would be the Combat Series Cranks. Some of the baits I mentioned are hard to get but I know that they are comparison to wood baits.
Let me know I am very interested.

I will let you know if the $450 is justifiable when I get mine in.
I do not mind spending any money on quality items with these things in mind.
1. It works
2. It pays for itself
3. It is the highest quality available
4. It has value added to the product
5. Not a commodity
If you look into any business decison you should be evaluating the above items, you will eventually get to the commodity as everyone will soon be doing the same thing you did with thier name but is is a nitch at the time and if it is solid enough a good patent might be a good bet. Take a look at the tail on the BBZ that is a great example as it is what was patetened by Stanley so in this case the patent might make a good example of a bait being protected by patent rights (think of what would have happened if the Sweet Beaver was protected with its design and how much more money they would be able to make.)

and to answer your question on $450 for a rod. Yes I think that I would spend that, just like $1k on a depth finder or $300 on a reel. So I have no objection to spending $22 on a bait but I would rather someone else do it for me, if I can get you to buy the bait and test it compared to other baits then I would say I want them.
to further answer that I will say that a good friend and great angler from this area was on Erie and used a combination of Jackall Baits and Norman baits and ended up catching them on a C-Flash. He told me he did not really know what the difference was and also stated that he was not the best cranker around either. He said that in order to really understand it, you would have to be one of the guys who uses cranks all the time and determine if it was line size, wobble, depth, rattles or other combinations to really understand it. Also stated when your catching fish on a bait it is very hard to stop and figure out what else they will bite.
I think I might buy a few and send them to some guys that I know and see what they think, because I know I am not a solid crankbait fisherman and I can not in my own opinion answer any of the questions I raised.

| I have used them and not gonna lie I can't stand them. I was on Indian where anyone can catch a bass and did not get a bite in 2 hours on one. I went to the Giron and whack a 4.5 and a 4 in 3 casts over the same weed patch I fished the king shad over for 20 minutes cause I could see them swimming around. |
