Was out on Magician Lake over Labor Day weekend. Water temps between 75 and 77 degrees, the water was clearer than I thought it would be. Caught a bunch big fish throughout the weekend. Surprisingly, the best fishing was in the late afternoon while all the boats were out. The fish kind of bunched up in deep water located off the weeds. Used small plastic worms and jigs. Caught 8 keepers in an hour and a half, some of the fastest action I have experienced in my 20 years of fishing the lake. Fish also are under some boat docks, the key there was pontoons, and minnows. Most of the minnows have moved out deep, but those who are still near shore are schooling up and sometimes there were 5-6 nice fish under one dock. Good time of the year to go fishing!
