Just got back from Lake of the woods. They are spraying it as I type this. It's just amazing how quickly it shuts the fish down when they do that. If I ran away from the air boat sprayer and got to clean water they bit like hell but as soon as they squirted that green/blue stuff out on the water...they quit.

Justin says there's just no reason to go north to fish so I won't bore you guys with a bunch of bla bla bla about GTB the last few days. Wink

The fish are just starting to fan beds. 2 to 4# males are pretty much everywhere - in the bedding areas - and the big females are just cruising around. Best this trip was 6-04. A real chunk. Shocked
A couple things have always kinda suprised me there. In 950 square miles the fish choose to bed in only 3 small areas for the most part. Think Lunker's parking lot times 3. There are bedded fish elsewhere but for the most part they're all jammed together. (Same thing on Skeg.)
The boys up there are relentless on 'em. I guess I would be too if I lived there. Evil or Very Mad
The other thing I find interesting is the easy flow of information from the local guys. They spill it all, instantly, every time. Around here, and I put myself at the top of the list, nobody tells anybody anything...EVER.
It's always been very competetive around here and I guess that's where it comes from - that's also why the Michigan teams don't do so well, they just can't force themselves to give up any good info.
I was going to type a GPS coordinate here for the big 'uns ...but I just can't bring myself to do it! Confused

Nice Report!!! I'm going to have to beg Kelly to go up there for just one day.... I wish gas didn't just jump to $4.25.

A 6.4 is a real beauty.

Mike those fish you told me about (buoy) they for the most part were not there. I talked to Capt. Chris Nossinger up there and he put me on fish and I was suprised how tightly they were grouped up and just pre spawn on some wood. We caught over 80 fish on a 100x100 ft section of the lake. Thanks for your help up there.

Rich
