There's no real current in the river right now so the fish are really spread out. Water's up fine but no current. The bite's kinda tough at the moment.

Maggies has predominatly smallmouth but also has a healthy largemouth population. Most of the largmouths are found in the lower section becuase of the current being slower the closer to the downstreem dam. You can run most of the river by staying to the outside of the bends or down the middle till you get up to a little before McNaughten park. It gets tricky after that ( old apple orchard stumps on the flat out from the gravel pits, stay to the south side). Past McNaughten park it gets shallow.

I will be in a tournament in late September launching from Maggies. Any help on lures and where to fish that time of year.

I fished there yesterday, 9/02 - the river is roaring and nothing but liquid mud. Very tough with tons of trash and garbage and cut off weeds floating along everywhere.
Difficult at best.
