Just wanted everyone to know that Maxi is starting to heat up, me and my partner won a tournament on Sunday with 5 that went 10.5lbs. You will find out one thing about Maxi there is not an abundant of 3+lb fish. You will catch some but for the most part tournaments are won with the magic # 12 but most weigh in between 8-10lbs. To help you guys out the fish right now were ganged up on inside corners adjacent to spawning flats (text book). most fish were in the 8-10ft range and were just there on the bite. Our fish came on Buddies, TN/70 Rattle baits, and Squad Minnow Jerkbaits. The 3 2+ fish came in on TN/70 traps. The water temp was 48.3° and never went over 49.5° and the fish were relating to the wind. If you have any questions send an email

Hey rich news flash, if 10.5lbs is considered heating up then that is not a good thing for Maxi. Justin and I had 12 lbs last year and did not even crack the top 5. We just caught one bass that weighted about the same as all those!!!! (7.5lbs). Let us know when it really starts heating up!!!! Laughing

How many boats were in the tournament? Was it a tough bite?
