It was only 30 degrees this afternoon when I launched my boat in Benton Harbor. The ramp had a thin layer of ice on it so it was pretty slippery. I fished the 35-37 degree river for 4 hours without a single bite. It was just to cold for the poor fish....... Or all the bass migrated back into the warmer lake.

My family is going to be vacationing about 20 minutes from St. Joe/Benton Harbor. We are from St. Louis and my dad and I fish bass tourny's in Bass World Sports. We were wanting to bring the bass boat and do some small mouth fishing. it seems like you are the go to guy for smallies and i was just curious on some locations and baits that would give us a good time while we are there. we are staying at Chalet on the Lake in Stevensville. any info would be greatly apprieciated.

we will be there between July 19-26. anything that is good fishing and is under an hour away from Stevensville is what we are looking for.
