Who's doing the 2008 BBTs? I'm going to be fishing with Math Monroe from Western Michigan, I think he and I are going to have some luck this year in those.

I want to do at least one open, hopefully it works out. I'm going to try to find a ringer first.

TCook are you looking to learn more about fishing over on the east side or something? The BFL as a coangler won't make you any money. A buddy of mine won one last year and made the money another time and still didn't make anything. The boaters side has a decent payback but you need to win to make money in the long wrong. If you want to just learn a little about over there and do a day of fishing on St. Clair or something let me know.

fishman, I was looking to learn from those guys on st clair and erie and it would be alot of fun. I am aware that I will not make $$, I just wanted to fish some bigger events and see what it takes to compete on the east. I am linking up with David valentine and we will be practicing together as well so I should get alot of time on the water out there. I should be getting a boat this year too but that might not happen until the middle of the year, I got my eye on a few champs. But hey i would still go fishing over there with you on any weekend that I have open if you wanted, thats all I do.

Fishman, I think we need to all get together and get over there to do some fun fishing. Do I hear a Southwest Michigan Bass Rally for the East Coast in the making here??? Justin, you got the hook-up over there with those guys, so what about making it happen sometimethis spring or early summer? As long as it's not the weekend of my wife's birthday I should be game.

Fishmen, do you plan on making $$ in the BBT? Just like any other tournament unless you live close after all the expenses you would probably have to win one and cash a couple more to come out even for the year.

Jav, that would be cool but if not the spring DK open will have a good turnout, im hitting that up fo sho!!

Hopefully I'll make a little bit, enough to cover a couple other smaller tournaments and expenses. The weights to cash checks are pretty reasonable in the BBTs. I've been 10th and 11th in the last two BFLs up that way so hopefully Matt and I can compete with those guys. I won a tournament on Muskegon 2 years ago with 20 pounds and my brother and I finished 4th in the CATT Championship up there in 2006, I just hope lady luck will smile on us a couple times. Muskegon, White, and the Grand are 3 of my favorite places to fish. I like the grass on White and Muskegon and the little rock piles on Spring Lake. On the St. Clair trip, let me know when you want to go over and I'll see if JVD wants to take the trip over with me if we do try to plan a group trip. I know we probably won't cash in all of the tournaments, specially Cad/Mitch, but our goal is to cash in 3 of the 5 tournaments with a top 5 for our first year together so it pays for the fishing.

Sounds to me like you will likley finish high and make the classic with that track record. I would look for 18 to win on muskegon and white, maybe 15-16 on the grand. Cadillac/Mitchell is tough to find fish better than 2 pounds, we fished it last fall and found some better fish on a pattern you would not think about trying (3.5lb average) and we were the only ones fishing that way. I dont know if it would be the same in the spring, but I wouldnt be surprised if it produced. I think me and jav are going to fish the teardrop opening weekend on cadillac/mitchell and then shoot over to muskegon the next day for the BBT open, Ill let you know what we find.

I along with alot of my buddies(Tcook,1Jav) and some from home NW Indiana, know the deal in the spring(as well as Justin,Nick smoked a nice bag from a lake I wont post,we'll all keep that a secret Laughing )-skeeterman-goodluck

Oh yeah,

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I usually go over to St. Clair/Erie a couple times in the spring. The guys over there are game and they will be on the fish. I'll get to talking with some people and see if we can plan for a weekend this spring. Maybe during the catch and release season. My shoulder still hurts from last spring Laughing Laughing
