I am looking into buying a left handed, 7.1:1 high speed reel for around $100. The problem I'm having is finding a quality one for the price. A lot of companies make right handed reel but not left handed. I've only found one that fits my needs and it's a BPS Rick Clunn Series reel.
I'm not sure about the quality of BPS reels. Has anybody used a BPS Clunn Series reel before? Or any Bass Pro Shop reel?

Justin, dont know how you feel about the quantum energy PT or tour edition burners 7.1:1 but I bought two right handed tour edition reels on ebay for about $145 each new. I did notice the left handed PTs going for alot less than the right handed maybe $115-$130 each. I only got to test them out 4 times so far this year and so far very smooth. The PTs are $180 new and the tour $230, so if you could get them for $80 to $100 off retail you cant go wrong and the sellers are very reliable.

I bought a left handed BPS Extreme baitcaster this spring and have been happy with it so far. 7.1:1 ratio and very comfortable to hold. I actually bought the combo for $119, the reel alone was advertised in "The Bass Book" on page 19 for $79. Haven't had it long enough to give a solid yes or no but so far so good.
Scott.

| I used a Prolite Finesse and Rick Clunn all of last year, and am using them this year as well. The quality is lacking from the bigger more precise companies, but they are still great reels, especially for the money. I use mine as much as I use my Tour Editions!

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to try a BPS reel this year. Ever since Shimono got rid of their $120 Curado I've been lost.

I use a lot of BPS reels and love them. The quality is perfect for the price.
