I had the opportunity to use the Giron from Jackall before it was released to dealers back in late August and September of 2007. I will say that this was a new way of fishing for me as I have always been a finesse fisherman. I will say that it took me about 2 hours to actually understand the bite on this bait as I used it in both Little Paw Paw Lake and Magician Lake on the same day. (I never caught a fish on it in Little Paw Paw) the key to that statment is caught, after traveling to Magician Lake I could actually see the fish and learned a huge lesson about fishing this bait, again it took me about 2 hours to really understand this bait and how to get fish to react to it, but when I finally did unlock its secret I was able to boat 11 keepers in 3 hour (1lb-3lb). If I would have understood the bait from the start I would anticipate close to 20 fish on the bait.
Back in August; Jim P and I traveled to Gogaulac in Battle Creek and during this trip I used the Mikey and we both thought that the bait was a little large (we do not think that now), so I quickly switched over to a Mikey Jr. and Jim looked over and said "that bait does not really look that good in the water" I responded "I agree, it does not look that good" on the very next cast I caught a 3lb fish (again this goes to show that we as fisherman do not have to like the action, it is the fish that determine what they will eat.)
I will be using many of Jackall new swimbait this year as I just received a new supply of them in and I will be happy to let anyone know my experience with them as the year goes on, we have some new ones that will be released during the ICAST 2008 show in July.
