August 4th was the last of the 1 on 1 Super Qualifiers held on Coldwater Lake in Coldwater, MI. We had 17 anglers show up for the event, including our very own BFL winner Doug Tucker. Of the 17 anglers, two of them were on their 3rd event. Tom Sokolwski(points champion) and Brian Ward(2nd overall). These two along with 3 others from the Eastside took on the challenge that was given out on a forum board to show off their individual skills.
Well the fishing was a tough one on this muggy day, but the winner, who by the way is from the Eastside showed up everyone, including 7 locals. That winner was Mike Oberski with a sack of 5 fish weighing in at 8.29 lbs. 2nd place went to Jim Parker with 3 fish at 5.25 lbs, and completing out the top 3 was Rob Miller Jr with 3 fish for 5.19 lbs. Big Bass award went to Doug (BFL winner) Tucker with the awesome weight of 2.99.
The points champion, Tom Sokolwski, had a very hard time finding fish. While choosing to stay on Coldwater Lake, he ran out the charge to his trolling motor circling the lake twice. Even though he did not have a fish to weigh in, he had enough points to cover his overall spot at the top and edge out his Team partner Brian Ward by 8 points.
