I ran the BAU on Muskegeon Lake this weekend and we had a lot of wind, the turnout was down due to the state fish off being the same day. We ended up with 7 boats down from the 12 that were there during the first tournament. 1st place was 15.89 2nd place was 13.11 and then 3-7 was between 9.5 and 11.87. BB was 5.25. I fished with Jake Horn and we were able to find fish and I lost a 4, 3.5 and a 3 at boat side. boy that was a tough start to the morning, we ending up traveling all over the lake trying to make up ground but ended up back where we started and had no fish at 1pm and by 3pm we had 8 keepers with a 3.06 for our largest. If we would have got the other ones boated we would have had enough for 2nd place but we never got the 5lb bite that we would have needed for 1st place. I fished my strength and caught all the keepers on a Flick Shake in 1-3 ft of water and we had like 11.39.
I will be also running the wildcard tournament for the BAU out of Muskegeon on Sept. 20th - we will be taking the top 50% of the field for the classic so if you have not yet qualified this is one of your last opportunities. We did the math the other day and we will have plenty of boats at the classic in the 2 divisions that I have been running we have 11 boats already. Another 10 in the other division and 7 more for the 4 divison so that is already 28 boats out of 4 divs. so we only need 12 more and I think that gull has 5 spots taken that leaves 6 left and I have not heard what happened in coldwater or on maggies or the wawasee divisions. So I hope all those that have not qualified will be at Muskegeon to get to the classic.
If you have any questions on if you have qualified please let me know and I will check with the directors or Jay to verify that your in.
