I'm heading north next weekend fri-sun, to fish lakes near Traverse City. I'm going to fish Skeg/Torch most of the day Friday.
I think I'm going to hit up Lelaneau SAT morning to help out a friend and find fish for a Classic. Later that day I want to fish the East Bay. If it's rough I'll try duck or Green or Long IDK.
Sunday morning I'm planning on the East Bay but if the wind blows I want to check out Bellaire. Sunday afternoon I'm going to fish Long lake on my way out of town.
Should be fun.

I will be on leelanau fri-sun next weekend with my partner and another team practicing for the BAU classic as well. Who are you helping and does he have any idea how many boats will be fishing this? Good Luck to you guys and try not to beat em up too bad.

I'm going to help out Ron ans Randy Nelson. I'll have to ask them how many boats are going to be up there for the classic.
Maybe I'll see you there.

how was the fishing on leelanau? We fished fri and sat sun up to sun down and the fishing started off slow. The first 3 hours we couldnt get bit until we figured out where the smallies were finally. friday we cought 18 smallies all 3.5-5.2 pounds and best 5 weighed 22 and my partner missed a 6+ at the boat all on the south lake. Sat we fished the north and had 11 smallies all 3.5-4.8 best 5 at 20 pounds 11 oz. These were the fattest smallies I ever seen on leelanau we had 18 inchers at almost 5 pounds. One of our best days ever but I think that is average out there, I think 25-26 pounds will win.

I think you're right, about 25 pounds will win, but if you get 20-22 you'll be in the money. I caught one nice one with a popper and lost a giant but that was about it. I found one spot that was loaded with 4-?? maybe 8 pound fish feeding on crayfish. I didn't fish for them because I gave the spot to the Nelsons to check. The lake was awesome. It sounds like you and Jav will do great up their. Good Luck
Kelly and I didn't do very well on Leelanau but we smoked them on Skegemog Lake. We had five that went 22 pounds and my biggest was just under 6 pounds.
I caught a couple pigs on Glen Lake that were about 4.5 pounds. Glen Lake is the most beautiful lake I've ever fished.

This thing will be won from the north lake......
and did you here of the 6+ Ike caught at the fishing with the pros deal? (Charlevoix)
we had a fish last fall from the same area that measured 19" exactly and weighed 6 -01. She was almost square.
and the guys that won the Dream classic (32+#) had no fish in the boat on day 2 with an hour to go...!!
I fished Presque Ilse Lake this last weekend - it's in northern Wisconsin.
Had a blast, the only fish that get any attention up there are muskies....
rock, rock and more rock

I spoke to Dan Shine who runs tear drop and is buddies with Don fowler who participated in fish with the pros. He said Ike fished charlevoix with the help from KVD who put him on those hogs. Dan said KVD showed up at wolfs lodge but did not fish. I dont think there are any pics available. Art furguson was at leelanau last saturday and fished the south part of the south lake, didnt hear how well he did though.
I been told by a few other guys that it will be won on the north lake as well. I did notice the smallies short and much fatter on the south lake and longer and fat but not as fat on the north lake. We found a 24 pound bag in the south lake so we are leaning in that direction but alot can change in 6 days so practice on friday will tell where we fish.

Was up on Mullett lake last weekend. Weather was beautifull, leaves were peaking. This was my first time on the lake. I found fish in some rock areas on thursday and thought I would do well in our club tournement on Friday. Wrong! Water temp was in the 62 deg range. The fish disapeared overnight. Jerry managed to find them though and brought in a 5 fish limit of smallmouth weighing 19lbs and 13oz to take first place.
Friday night a storm blew through with thunder, lightning and rain. Got up Saturday morning and the rain had stopped but was still lightning. By the time we got to the lake the lightning had stopped, there was a little wind and on and off rain. The bite had totally changed for us. I weighed in a five fish limit of 15lb 11oz to take first place and my non-boater weighed in 13lb 8oz for second place. He lost 2 nice 4-5lb small mouths though. My big fish weighed 4lb 11 oz. Looking forward to my next trip to Mullett and or Burt lake next year.

Great Job!!! I love fishing Burt/Mullett, although I've never fished it in the fall. What was big bass for the tournament?

| Jerry had big fish on the first day with a 5lb 3oz smallmouth. I had big fish on day two with a 4-11 smallmouth. One of the guys in the club had one over 6 the day before the tournement.
