I would rig one baitcaster with a Jerkbait, the second baitcaster with a Jig, and the spinning rod with a Shaky Head Worm

I would drop shot/tube with spinning, Jig/worm casting #1, crankbait/spinnerbait casting #2

Just because you have three rods that are not a perfect setup for a paticular bait does not mean you shouldnt fish those baits with it. I would alternate with what I listed above or something similar so you have nice options for different situations. Although I would invest some $ in more setups to expand those options so you save time by not switching lines and baits all day. I am a big beleiver that quality rods and reels will also increase your percentage of fish landed and # of bites in some cases.

I think that is a great question. Not everyone can afford to have a couple dozen rigs. I get what I can when I can and I only have maybe 6 rods including a couple steelhead rods and a flyrod. I felt kind of belittled last year when someone made fun of me for buying a $60 casting rod instead of a $180 G Loomis. Please don't make fun of people.

These guys are making fun of themselves, not anyone else. It's a sickness and I'm the sickest of all. My wife has a great job and I spend her money wisely. I would never buy a Loomis GL2 and spend $180. I always buy the GLX for $355 instead. The way I figure it she's just damn lucky to have a guy like me.

I'd say go with a deep Crankbait, my choice is the Muscle 10+, a shallow crankbait, MC60SR, and a tube jig around here. Crank it up and keep on moving until you catch a couple then slow down with the tube or fish some docks with it.

You have it made canvsbk!!!!! Laughing

I get to fish with pink ugly sticks!!!!!

For real though, its worth it to safe any extra money and buy a quality rod. The sensitivity is so much better and if they break the company will stand behind.

I agree the expensive rods are well worth it...HOWEVER...if I had to sacrifice the weight advantage I would absolutley fish braid with a flouro leader. You can fish with a rod far inferior and get the same feel as a high dollar rod. You just have to learn to deal with the braid, but it's a much less expensive way to fly.

On another note, this morning I saw a picture of a 7 -05 smallie a buddy of mine caught up you know where last fall. An absolute pig!! Man I hate those guys......

I agree with Triton on depending which time of the year it is. But I would go with a jig and spinnerbait for the baitcasters and a texas rigged worm for my spinning but thats just me.
