The water temps are near 77 degrees, caught a few on a white spinner bait casting the docks. A few bite offs from notherns. The boating action was heavy through out the weekend.

I like that I keep hearing about northerns in this lake. My dad used to fish this lake years ago and said you almost never hear of them getting caught out there. Then our first trip out there this year we lose a big northern at the entrance to the river.

There is a crapload of those pesky critters in Paw Paw. This year we must average 10 bites a day from pike while bass fishing. The ones that dont bite us off that we get to see probably average 5 pounds or better. Do us a favor and start fishing Paw Paw for pike and keep every legal one you catch. I really hate those northerns with a passion, kill em all hahaha!! Evil or Very Mad

I have to say if you can master the art of fileting pike they rank right up there with walleye. A real good eating fish in my opinion.

Pike rate higher as a gamefish to me then bass do. So I will not be keeping any unless I get one over my 38 inch personal best.

I bass fish more then I pike fish and I got to say I like catching pike better. That 38 Incher has a story tho. I caught it early moarning 1 hr before I had to leave the lake. I was in a paddle boat. I went to a sunken Island and ancored and was casting on the deep edge of it with a terminator spinner bait when I hooked it. It drug me in the boat out into the lake. I had landed it and put it in the row boat twice and it jumped out twice, I hadnt unhooked it yet. Lucky for me the people I was staying with were coming out in there large rowboat with a small outboard and as I landed it the thrid time I threw it in there boat. Unlucky for me tho my frezzer lost power for some time and I didnt know and the fish rotted before I could get it mounted. So now I am looking for a bigger one, we also got a new frezzer ;-).
