| I have only fished this lake 2 times in my own boat (12' john) and each time i have seen somebody take a bass that could go 5lbs or more. I looked at master angler results, and there are an astounding amount of lunkers coming from this lake in comparison with other area lakes the same size. But a problem is that i have trouble fishing this lake efficiently. Anybody else have experience fishing this lake either for lunkers, or numbers?

Oh Boy! Pipestone Lake has a bunch of quality bass that can be fairly easily caught. Try throwing a popper in the morning or evening and a Jig n pig during the day. I've caught a bunch of huge bass from Pipestone. My buddy caught a 7 lber and a 6 lber back to back on a jerkbait.

| I have problems adjusting to the type of lake. I dont have a depthfinder in my boat, and im sure that hurts me trememdously. Without that, i feel i am very limited to my abilities, especially in deep water. Since there are no maps, do you have any info on this lake as far as depth/contours? It is about 7 miles from my house, so its a convenient drive. One of the fish i caught there weighed 4lbs, and ive only been there twice, so i know there has to be more.

If you just fish the weed edge all the way around the lake then you'll stumble into some quality bass. There isn't much contour to the lake and it's pretty small. Once you catch a couple bass concentrate on that areas for a little while and move on.

| How far out does the weedline go? It doesnt seem too far since its not very clear and from what i can tell the shorelines are steep. I have seemed to have most bites around the bends in the lake, and almost exclusivley on the east side of the lake. I am curious and looking forward to learn this lake since it is my "home" lake. Its the closest one to my house (excluding black lake) and is just the right size for my little boat. Also, i am looking to break my pb this year, which is 5lbs. 11 oz. for sure. I caught one that im pretty sure was bigger last year, but i didnt weigh/measure it. This lake seems like a prime candidate for big fish.

Everyone know about Pipestone lake. The best time to caught a moster is the later part of april through the whole month of May. That is during the spawn. To caught spawners on that lake you just have to jump on the shore line and start looking for them. Later in the spawn you will not be able to see them so you just throw a jib at every bush you see. They love the little bushes on that lake. In the summer it is a hit or miss lake. Sometimes it will be great and sometimes you will not get a bite. I was the one that caught a 6-10 and 7-3 back to back on a jerkk bait the first week of june. Big fish live there.
