WOW! Very Happy Very Happy

The fishing up north never fails to amaze me. We fished around TC for 4 days before heading to the Upper and they were just getting going good. We never had a day without 5 or more 5 pounders and caught 3 fish over 6#'s in 3 days. This morning after our return from the Upper I saw a buddy in the coffee shop that fishes up there all the time. After a brief discussion of were and when I showed him pictures of a 6-03 and a 6-04. He said those were nice fish.....then he pulled out pictures of a 7-03 and a 7-05!! Surprised (I just hate those guys)
Whipped again! Confused

We're heading back very soon - if you have plans to go up there - GET GOING!! Very Happy Very Happy

Me and another guy from GLB are talking about heading north to traverse city this weekend. I was hoping you could recammend us what lakes to hit for the best smallmouth fishing. This time of year does the craw bite disappear and all about baitfish now? I was told at a certain temp the craws dissapear.

Tim

TCook,

If you're going up soon try the Torch River that connects Torch Lake and Skegemog. Fish around the wood and look for holes in the shallow water. Smallies stack up there this time of year. In the river look for deeper holes and they will be loaded with bass.

Still fish with crayfish baits on warm days because they will pop out to catch some rays.

CANVSBK,

You're Lucky.

Charlevoix - Douglas - Burt for the big ones. Poor Boys 4" tube in Frog. I just about wore the paint off a spinnerbait in 4 days, it only caught 1 fish.
