Well it was colder than........... Only 45 degrees on the river tonight. The water temp dropped to 58 degrees and all the bass pulled out of their spawning patterns. My old fishing buddy Rich was working in Chicago and decided to drive over to fish with me for a couple hours. We did pretty good considering the conditions. We fished deep current and caught 20 or so smallies. Our best five weighed just under 15 pounds probably. They were fighting hard though. Rich had a 3 pounder dive under the boat and just about break his pole.
