Nothing exciting about a 4.5-5 pound smallie but a big toothy trash fish well that will really get the blood pumping. I just dont get why the majority of fisherman get so excited fighting big acrobatic smallmouth even when there is hundreds or even thousands of dollers on the line, it makes no sense to me. Who needs competition just give me a big spinnerbait and some toofy action and now we are doing some real fishin boys! |
Tcook,
Thats some funny stuff right there!!!!!

Unless it's Justin, John, Phil, Tim, or someone else I know I can trust, show me the pics. Haven't seen anything over 6 in the river for awhile now. Would like to see him hanging from a scale, tail in view, preferably. Just my opinion.

| Ha ha yeah i got one Monday that was an easy 6 according to the guy on the pier..haha it was 3.5-4 if it was lucky. hey but we might be wrong.. i know John got a hog on Magician this spring 7.. so its possible funny how we cant usually get them and most will kick our buts anytime.. i fear the guy in the tin boat sometimes. Guess most dont appreciate the time and effort we put into fishing and think were all a bunch of bs'ers. take 1 out w u sometime and see there reaction on a normal day.. I love contraversy..23-24 inch smallies huh? better give up on the pike fishing and go Bass fishin.. u would make Justin look like nothin.. since hes the best around here..im sure u could get 25lbs anytime around here. Justin,John, and I are just weekend warriors wouldn't stand a chance. |

I have never fished the river from a boat I just put on my waders and head to berrien and fish lots of water. I only average one big bass a trip and most times not even that. This year my biggest smallie might have went 3.5, but I also caught alot of males this year.

| I can add on your 7 lb Magician comment. That smallie was almost 26 inches long to make it to almost 7 on the XTools and it was packed full of spawn and crayfish. We thought it was a largemouth until I plucked it out of the water because all it could do when it tried to jump was get its big old head and mouth out of the water. |

| see I dont trust thos xtools things or anything but a certified scale a 26 inch smallie should way more then a largie the same size because of the way they are built like a football meaning theres more girth for inch compared to largemouths

My sentiments exactly. Good job today Justin by the way. See you still have it going for you. Were the invaders friendly's or were they water crooks?

Water Crooks for sure. Desperate at that! I'm talking 20 yards and casting to the same small rock pile. Crazy thing is they couldn't get a bite.

Sucks when that happens. I would have freaked for sure. Not a bad guy but I respect others water, and da&&it I expect the same. That's why we do it.
