Nope none of us did very well done there. The coangler side of the tournament kills me. It's great for a little learning experience but I would love to have the opportunity to fish on the boater side. I'm saving my money for next year and have something in the works for the year after so hopefully it all goes as planned. Mickey had a better tournament though and he's starting to figure out the southern fishing. It's so much harder to fish down there than up here that it isn't even funny. We really have it made for numbers of fish up here and the structure we have in our lakes!

I'm fishing with Mickey in the morning. It'll be interesting to hear his take on fishing down south...

My old fishing partner Rich has lived on a couple different Southern Resevours in the past 3 years. He explained to me that you really have to run around and cover a bunch of water. There is a lot of shoreline and structure that is worthless and you can burn your whole day fishing it. I think this is what make southern lakes so tough. You have to be able efficiently elliminate water. So when a tournament comes around you can put your lure were the fish are.

Every time I've fished a southern Lake I'd cover as much water as possible. Once I got a couple bites I'd slow down and disect the area. I'd try to develop a pattern based on what I'd learned to that point. Then I'd run all over the lake trying to repeat it.

It is a lot different than fishing around here in oue clear fish bowls Very Happy
